In the mid-nineties the Sacremento valley became one of the largest methamphetamine producing regions in the world. Although there were weekly meth-lab busts both in the city and surrounding foothills, law enforcement could not keep up with the increasing numbers of methamphetamine producers.

During this time period I went to school in Rocklin, California, a subburb of Sacramento, and lived in the on-campus residence hall. The effects of living in a high drug production area were seen in the dorms as about half the residents used methamphetamines. There were other drugs used including Marajuana, Cocaine, Crank, Alcohol, mushrooms, LSD, and even Heroin, but the meth derivatives stood out as the most common and extreme behavior modifying drugs.

The following pictures were taken one night when my neighbors were awake at 3:00 am cleaning their room while going through a bottle of crystal meth.
